SANCTUARY

Sussex, October 1929: as financial markets collapse, two idealists celebrate an alternative lifestyle. But unexpected visitors threaten to draw them into a nightmare world of ancient evil. This site-specific play is based on the lives of Vera Pragnell, disciple of Edward Carpenter’s anti-capitalist vision, and Victor Neuburg, poet, printer and former associate of Aleister Crowley.

ReStage is a company based in the North of England that specialises in historically based work, usually in site-specific non-theatre venues. We perform newly created pieces as well as well-known classics. We undertake research and also have an educational remit.
