Wilson’s Tales Revival Event; “The Red Hall; Berwick 1296” & “The Royal Raid”

ReStage joins other performers to showcase Wilson’s Tales of the Borders. Best-sellers when they were published in the 1830s, now and next year a selection of the tales are reworked for the 21st century by a variety of artists and performers. As part of the event on 30th March Restage will premier a new play originally conceived and written by local Dr Michael Fenty which covers the story of “Border Reiving ” behind the Border ballad “The Border Widow”, which the audience will hear sung by talented local Doctor, Paula Whitty, at the end.

Also part of the evening will be an introduction to Wilson’s Tales and local Artist Morag Eaton will give a talk on her interpretation of “The Red Hall”, which covers Edward I bloody capture of Berwick in 1296, through 12 new prints which will then be available for viewing in the towns Goals at the interval.
