Meeting the albert Sustainable Production Taskforce
On December 3rd, 2025, we had our first meeting with the albert Sustainable Production Taskforce to present the ReStage vision for a UK-wide resource hub network. BAFTA albert is the leading industry organisation for environmental sustainability in the UK screen sector, providing the essential tools and certification that drive the industry toward net zero. We are incredibly energised to be working alongside them to specifically champion the transition to a circular economy.
The meeting brought together sustainability leads and production executives from across the sector, including the BBC, Sky, ITV, Netflix, Paramount, Sony, and Warner Bros. Discovery. We were excited to share our map of UK reuse networks, showcasing the growing infrastructure that will move the sector beyond the outdated "build-shoot-dispose" model. The presentation focused on the three essential pillars of infrastructure required for this shift:
Physical Infrastructure: Developing professional Reuse Hubs that collect and process reclaimed sets, moving beyond ad-hoc storage to a system that remakes and redistributes materials.
Institutional Infrastructure: Establishing the frameworks and skills such as standardised commissioning and decision-making to embed a "reuse culture" into every stage of production.
Innovation Infrastructure: Investing in the R&D and shared systems needed to scale, such as modular set development and digital asset tracking.
The Taskforce members shared valuable insights into the logistical barriers currently hindering large-scale reuse.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with BAFTA albert, helping to drive the R&D and championing the practical reuse strategies that will transform the screen sector into a truly sustainable, zero-waste industry.
